Dave Brickey & The 40 Pass

"How'd this happen?"

ONCE UPON A TIME...and once again, a solo project becomes a band. Dave Brickey and the 40 Pass is a Midwest Power-Pop group, featuring familiar faces of the St. Louis original music scene. If you are a fan of Pop, Americana, and Alt-Country, you have seen a combination of the members in numerous groups, either headlining or opening for national acts of similar taste. Dave Brickey's time in St. Louis clubs began as singer (and, from time to time, bass) in Grind Free Standing, followed by runs with The Rock-O-Planes and The Lonesome Travelers as singer/rhythm guitarist. What was meant to be a short break to focus on a few bass recording projects turned into a fifteen-year stretch as a bassist/backing vocalist for bands of varying styles - Stephanie Brickey Band, Earl, Vijoy Rao & the Removers, the Homewreckers, and Soma Jet Set, to name a few. Not unlike many veterans of the St. Louis scene, Dave decided to finish and record "a few" songs during the lockdown. Once the dust settled, eighteen songs were shaped out. When it came time to record final tracks, Dave called in favors from many of the musicians he had helped on their projects. During the process, a few of the musicians decided a group should be created to promote the new songs around town. The band began performing over the Summer of 2022. The timing couldn't be better, with the new songs expected to be released early Winter, 2022. The live band is comprised of these fine musicians: Dave Brickey - Vocals, Guitars; Mike Fitzsimmons - Guitars; Jon Parsons - Keys, Bass; Dave Stallman - Bass, Guitars; and Vijoy Rao - Drums.
